I made the move from Reno to LA because of the art scene, the exposure, the booming entertainment industry…all the reasons everyone else is in LA, too. I was excited to emerge myself into a larger community - I assumed I’d be attending more art openings, art walks, small gallery exhibits, and meeting people that way.
Instead, I’ve been in LA for less than a month and I’ve already met some of my very favorite photographers. Probably all due to the powers of the internet, and thanks to my parents for not raising me to think that ‘meeting people off the internet was creepy.’ :) Even though, it totally is. Right? All of a sudden all these photographs, and portraits I’ve been admiring - I’m surrounded by the people making these images!
Don’t get me wrong, I’d still like to go to those galleries, openings, and walks…but in the meantime, I don’t mind diving head first into the art community.

I have an old camera strap of my dad’s that needs new hardware. I think I might use this method.
How amazing are these pillows?! Good looking and handmade such a great combo!
